Broker's Comments
The Laurent Giles designed Centaur is one of the most popular British yachts ever, about 2,500 having been built from 1969 to 1984. Centaurs are strongly built, offer excellent headroom and accommodation for their size, and sail well. This is one of the early models which brought fond memories flooding back to me as I slid back the hatch for my viewing. My first sailing experiences were onboard a friends Centaur. On a swing mooring near Orford Ness, huddled around the saloon table of a night, trying to play cards under the glimmer of a 7 watt lamp, fretting over whether or not there would be enough juice to start the donkey in the morning. Happy days.
This example is looking for a new owner to lavish some more TLC on her. She is an old lady but will still provide many years sailing pleasure. Just remember, old Centaurs don't die, they just get more comfortable with age.
