Broker's Comments
The Golden Hind 31 was built in the days when strength and durability was foremost in the designers mind. They were hand built from start to finish in plywood sheathed in GRP. This boat was assessed during her 2009 survey as being in a sound structural condition but in need of some cosmetic TLC which we believe is still true. She should be considered as a project having suffered from ingress of rain water, possibly through a hatch and the toerail, which has given her a feeling on dampness when you first go aboard. Solve this, add a generous helping of TLC, above and below decks and install some modern electronics and she could give you many years of service.
The Golden Hind 31 will be familiar to readers of a popular yachting magazine as the owner of one these has documented his travels to the Mediterranean and is now coast hopping up the French Atlantic Coast on his return, giving testament to the durability and seaworthiness of these Maurice Griffiths designed yachts, many of which have crossed the Atlantic. Her shallow draught will allow her to explore the many creeks that abound our shores.
Her very modest price, which has been reduced yet further to achieve a quick sale, offers a great opportunity to acquire a 31ft boat with a proven track record at a very attractive price.
