After a rather successful party celebrating Boatshed’s new surroundings in Endeavour Quay and the first franchise opening in the USA, it would be entirely forgivable for Neil and Mandy Chapman, founders of Boatshed.com to be looking slightly the worse for wear. However it is 10am on the morning after – and instead of bleary eyes and that slightly creased forehead you get after a late night, they both have grins on their faces…..

Our trip sailing to the Isle of Wight found sitting on the top deck of a double Decker bus bouncing our way down the windy roads from Yarmouth to Newport, to visit the Maritime museum. A day out on land to get away from Westerly force 6-7 hindering our progress to Guernsey.

The Volvo boats left with the tide from Portsmouth heading out towards the needles. The course is around the fastnet rock up the west coast of ireland, around Scotland back down southwards to Rotterdam.

It is with great pleasure and excitement we announce the successful partnership of Boatshed.com and Owen Clarke Design (Ellen McArthur- Kingfisher), known as Boatshed Performance. The combining of the 2 forces has been instrumental in the sale of our first Open 60 to Kojiro Shiraishi of Ocean Biz ltd, Japan. Kojiro and Dominique Wavre, former skipper of ‘Temenos’ recently completed the deal for the sale of Temenos with Boatshed Performance brokering the deal.

The coast-line of the Costa de la Luz this weekend sees the launch of Boatshed Cadiz, run by Michelle & Terry Cryer. The area has witnessed major seafaring history, including the Battle of Trafalgar 21st of October 1805, blue fin tuna are exported to Japan and Cadiz port was the thriving centre for New World trade.
