Broker's Comments
The Colgate 26 is a collaboration between an Olympic sailor and a naval architect. They called it 'The boat for all reasons', to sail fast, to have fun and, most importantly, to be safe whilst doing it. They are popular one-design day boats and are great for teaching the transition from dinghies to keelboats.
On deck they are simple and practical, the rig is powerful and yet easily controlled and the large self-draining cockpit adds to the versatility. Safety really was paramount in this design and the open, low transom means that getting back aboard is much easier.
Down below these boats are bare but there are long quarter berths and a v-berth forward so they could be adapted for overnighting.
This is one of a fleet of 3 matched boats all available. They have all been teaching boats and so show signs of wear but are very much in commission and regularly maintained.
These boat details are subject to contract.
